Insider: Rams' WR Cooper Kupp 'Unlikely' to Play vs. Seahawks
The Los Angeles Rams enter game week uncertain if star receiver Cooper Kupp can take the field against the Seattle Seahawks after a recent setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury.
According to a new report from NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the hope of Kupp being able to play on Sunday is fleeting after he went to Minnesota recently to see a specialist about his hamstring injury.
"Based on what I understand, it seems unlikely that he'll be able to play Week 1," Rapoport said. "The reason is ... it would be a short turnaround for him to potentially get on the field, start running, and play Week 1. I think the most important thing for Cooper Kupp [is] to just understand what is causing his hamstring injury and how to fix it."
Kupp's absence would be a big blow to the Rams' offense as they try to bounce back from their Super Bowl hangover last season, where injuries to both he and Stafford were a major reason for the team's downfall.
The original injury to Kupp came after he told the media that he was beginning to refind the connection he once had on the field with Stafford. Kupp said they were clicking for the first time since the 2021 season when Stafford was originally traded from the Detroit Lions to L.A.
The Rams will now hope that once they can get Kupp back on the field, he and Stafford can pick up where they left off as he looks to bounce back from his worst statistical year in the league since his second season in L.A.
