Could Los Angeles Rams' Cooper Kupp Be Candidate for Comeback Player of the Year?
Los Angeles Rams star receiver Cooper Kupp is one of the best talents that the NFL has, but he had a down year this past season.
The star receiver was out with a hamstring injury for the team's first four games of the season, and when he came back, he wasn't the same as he had been in the past. With that being said, that could set up a bounce-back year and a potential shot at the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.
Kupp still finished this past year with a solid 737 yards for having missed a solid chunk of time due to injury. But compared to the seasons that the star wide out has had in the past, this could be viewed by some as a disappointing season.
In 2021, Kupp won the triple crown, leading the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He easily won NFL Offensive Player of the Year and cemented himself as one of the premier wide receiver threats in the league.
Now that the Rams have another star wideout in Puka Nacua, attention will be drawn away from Kupp. This could lead to the team possibly having two 1000-yard receivers this season, and therefore improving their already impressive passing game.
Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford had a bounce-back year and was one of the finalists for Comeback Player of the Year this past season. If Kupp can do the same and remain on the field, then he could be one of the players in the running for the honor this year.
