Los Angeles Rams Dismantled By Dallas Cowboys In Second Straight Loss
ARLINGTON, TX -- The Los Angeles Rams goals of returning to the postseason in 2023 took a major hit on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium.
Coming off of a loss to Pittsburgh a week prior, the Rams desperately needed to get back in the win column in Arlington against the Dallas Cowboys in order to get back to .500.
Unfortunately for L.A., the Cowboys had other plans and would go on to completely dismantle the Rams 43-20, sending Sean McVay's team to 3-5 for the season.
And from the opening kick, it was clear that L.A. was in trouble, with Dak Prescott marching down the field for a score to put the Rams in an early 7-0 hole.
Then, after trading field goals, all hell broke loose for the Rams, with Dallas going on to score 23 unanswered points and take a commanding 33-3 lead.
L.A. did get on the board with a score entering the half, but by then it was too late.
To add insult to literal injury, things got much worse for L.A. in the second half, when, after leading an opening drive touchdown in the third quarter, quarterback Matthew Stafford was knocked out of the game during a trick play on a two-point conversion with an apparent thumb injury.
Brett Rypien would replace Stafford in the lineup, with the 35-year-old missing the rest of the game.
Dallas then went on to add a field goal and another touchdown, putting an exclamation point on a forgettable day for L.A.
Following the loss the Rams (3-5) will now prepare for another road trip against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
If Stafford is able to go against the Packers, it will be his 22nd game against Green Bay all time. In the previous 21 matchups, he has thrown for 5,976 yards and 40 touchdowns with 21 interceptions and a 90.2 passer rating, per StatMuse.
