Rams Bobby Wagner Replacement? Arkansas LB Drew Sanders to LA in New NFL Mock Draft

After releasing veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner, the Los Angeles Rams could draft versatile linebacker Drew Sanders.
In this story:

As things currently stand with the draft order, the Los Angeles Rams won't have to make a selection come Day 1 of the NFL Draft. Thanks to the Jared Goff-Matthew Stafford trade, it will be the seventh-straight season the Rams haven't had a first-round pick.

Meaning the Rams' first pick of the 2023 Draft won't come until the second round, where they'll pick at No. 36. In a recent two-round mock draft from Pro Football Focus (PFF), projected the Rams to select linebacker Drew Sanders out of Arkansas.

We wonder if Sanders goes higher than that, but ...

Sanders, a former five-star linebacker coming out of high school, began his career at Alabama with the Crimson Tide before transferring to the Arkansas Razorbacks after playing in just 15 games in his first two seasons.

In his first year and only season as a starting contributor, Sanders produced, recording 103 tackles, 13.5 for a loss, 9.5 sacks, and one interception.

Despite a limited amount of game film, what makes Sanders enticing is his upside and versatility, which he showed at the collegiate level. When at Alabama, Sanders was used predominantly off the edge, but once he arrived in Arkansas, he played more as an inside linebacker.

His versatility would give the Rams a plethora of options in regard to positions, similar to how the Dallas Cowboys use Micah Parsons. ... or for that matter, maybe not unlike Bobby Wagner has played during his career in LA and beyond.
