Free Agent Market Decreasing For Ex Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr.?

According to reports, free agent and former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. options are becoming less and less prevalent by the day.

Despite the free agency blitz that took place last month, former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. remains an unsigned free agent and is still seeking a new home.

And while there has been some interest in the 30-year-old, including multiple teams showing up at a recent workout, it appears that Beckham is losing whatever leverage he might have had.

According to a report from ESPN, Beckham is currently now seeking a one-year $15 million - which is a significant drop from his original asking price of $20 million.

However, Beckham could be in line for even less than that.

Jets officials weren't shy about expressing their interest in free agent Odell Beckham Jr., who generated a lot of publicity by milling around the hotel grounds with his agent. Beckham is thought to be seeking a one-year deal for $15 million, which is pricey for a 30-year-old receiver coming off his second ACL surgery. A deal in the $10 million to $12 million range seems more likely, with a chance to earn more with incentives. The Jets are said to be the front-runners.

The Rams have made it known that they are still very interested in the idea of bringing back Beckham, who played a key role in the team's Super Bowl LVI run in 2021.

However, as the market has developed, it appears that teams such as the Jets and the Chiefs are beginning to emerge as the favorites to eventually sign Beckham.

The Jets, of course, are set to add future hall-of-fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the fold and have completely remade their roster over the last few weeks.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are also rumored to be in the market for another Rams pass catcher, wide receiver Allen Robinson.

Whatever the case, it appears as though Beckham's negotiating power may be dwindling by the day, so if the Rams hope to reunite with him, it could behoove them to act sooner, rather than later.
