'Continuity!' Rams Coach Sean McVay Feels 'Really Good' About Current Coaching Staff
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has been given a large amount of credit for his team's midseason turnaround in 2023, but they also would not have gotten far without the coaches "behind the scenes."
Some of McVay's assistant coaches have been mentioned in connection with head coaching vacancies in the National Football League, especially defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. McVay knows this too, and he is pleased with where his current staff sits heading into the offseason.
With that said, unless some premier openings come up, he expects the staff to remain the same entering the 2024 season.
“If there are changes, it'll only be because of better opportunities," McVay said. "I feel really good about our coaching staff. I think it was good to be able to have a lot of the continuity. Obviously, there could be some chips that end up falling into place relative to Raheem getting an opportunity to be a head coach. If that doesn't occur and people don't get better opportunities, then we'll have the same group back.”
Is It Too Early to Talk With Rams Star Donald About Future?
The Rams' season came to an unceremonious end in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, dropping a 24-23 heartbreaker to the Detroit Lions. That put a damper on a storybook campaign that featured a turnaround after the bye week, leading Los Angeles to a 10-7 finish after a 3-6 start.
