The NFL's coaching carousel continues to turn, and assistant coaches are not immune to changes on a given staff.

Just ask the Los Angeles Rams who have seen multiple assistant coaches shift franchises since their season ended earlier this month. One such vacancy for L.A. comes at the defensive line coaching position after Eric Henderson accepted a position as the USC Trojans' co-defensive coordinator in the collegiate ranks.

According to reports from CBS Sports, the Rams could be looking for some continuity with this hire as they have interviewed assistant defensive line coach AC Carter for the position on Monday.

Carter has not been in Los Angeles very long, completing his first season with the team in 2023. Prior to that, he served as a defensive quality control coach for the Broncos in 2022, and he has also spent time in college football with Kansas, Hampton and Eastern Illinois.

Prior to entering the college ranks, Carter began his coaching career at the high school level in Louisiana. He was a large part in some defensive line success for Los Angeles this season, helping rookie rusher Kobie Turner burst onto the scene with nine sacks.

Veteran defensive lineman Aaron Donald also put up eight sacks on the year, making a strong pairing with the young Turner.

Another notable coaching vacancy for the Rams comes at the defensive coordinator position after Raheem Morris took the head coaching job with the Atlanta Falcons. One key interview subject for the position was long-time NFL head coach Ron Rivera who has experience with the Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders in his career.
