Rams QB Matthew Stafford Named AP Comeback Player of the Year Finalist
The Los Angeles Rams made it to the NFL Playoff this year after being labeled as rebuilding by many, and they were led there by a solid season from Matthew Stafford.
The season that he had has led Stafford to be named as a finalist for the AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.
This comes as a result of his ability to bounce back from the injuries that he dealt with all last year and heading into training camp this year.
Last season, Stafford missed the last six games of the season with an injury and only passed for 2000 yards and 10 touchdowns as a result. Coming into this year, there were questions about whether or not the veteran quarterback would return to his former self and bounce back.
Now, it seems safe to say that he put all of those questions to rest.
Stafford finished the year with just under 4000 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team after really heating up following the Rams' bye in week 10. Following their bye, the Rams only lost one game the rest of the year, finishing with a 10-7 record and making it to the playoffs.

The Rams have all of the pieces to go deeper in the playoffs next year, especially now that their veteran quarterback is back to his old ways again. Stafford has confirmed that he is back for at least one more season, as he has jokingly said the Rams are "stuck with him."
Stafford is one of three Rams that have been named as a finalist for an award alongside rookies Puka Nacua and Kobie Turner. Award winners will be announced NFL Honors at Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas on Thursday, February 8.
