EA Sports Reveals Rams QB Matthew Stafford's Madden 24 Rating
As we've eclipsed the one-month mark until the EA Sports Madden NFL 24 game launches on Aug. 18 (with early access on the 15th), they have gradually begun to release ratings for players and position groups.
Quarterbacks were the last position to be revealed on Friday.
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford received a 75 overall rating (out of 99), which is 23rd at his position.
The Rams threw a lot, perhaps too many, assets into building their Super Bowl-winning team in 2021-22. They sacrificed a lot of picks and players to pursue the title.
It obviously paid off, but they paid for it dearly last season with a historic hangover. The Rams' Super Bowl win percentage (29.4) in 2022 was worse than any other former Lombardi hoister.
Stafford, and 2021 All-Pros Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald each missed time last season due to injuries. However, Stafford struggled even when healthy, finishing with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine games.
These numbers heavily affected Stafford's rating, as he was rated as an 85 when the Rams won the Super Bowl.
The 35-year-old quarterback is hoping his prime years in the NFL are still intact as last season may have been a fluke.
With that being said, Madden ratings fluctuate throughout the season based on the player's performance. There have been years that a player's rating has gone up/down 10 notches from Weeks 1-18.
Hopefully, Stafford will better his rating throughout the season, but it may be difficult as the Rams made very few improvements this offseason. In fact, his subpar rating is the sixth-best on the Rams.
