Rams Go Offense Heavy in 3-Round PFF Mock Draft
The Los Angeles Rams need contributors from their rookie NFL Draft class, which may be harder for them than most teams as they are without a first-round pick. This makes each pick all the more important that the Rams find prospects that can help.
With the NFL Draft just weeks away, I put together a three-round mock draft using Pro Football Focus's simulator without any trades and earned an A- grade for three selections in the first two days of the draft.
No. 36 - Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State
The offensive line should be a major focus for the Rams in the draft, as they gave up 59 sacks, the third-most in the NFL last season. Not only did they struggle in pass protection, but their run blocking was also inconsistent.
With their first pick, the Rams address a need on the offensive line by selecting Dawand Jones, the right tackle out of Ohio State. Which would be as good of a second-round selection as Los Angeles could make, considering some have labeled the former Buckeye a first-round talent.
At 6-foot-8, 374 pounds, Jones was a standout player in this year's Senior Bowl. Not only does he have a huge frame, but Jones even set the Senior Bowl record for the longest wingspan at 89 inches.
No. 69 - Nathaniel Dell, WR, Houston
Houston's Dell, also commonly referred to as "Tank," gained some stem from the pre-Draft process as he participated in the Senior Bowl.
Despite his 5-foot-8, 165-pound may make teams shy away from him, Dell's speed and various release packages make him a potentially exciting Day-Two prospect at receiver.
The Rams need help at wide receiver especially considering they are shopping Allen Robinson, which leaves them without many other options outside of Cooper Kupp.
While they still have Tutu Atwell and Van Jefferson, both younger players, it wouldn't hurt to add another playmaker in Dell who could also play a role on special teams as a returner.
No. 77 - Chandler Zavala, OG, NC State
Continuing to address issues on the offensive line, the Rams select Zavala out of N.C. State to provide help on the interior of the offensive line. The ex-Wolfpack member really burst onto the NFL Draft radar in 2022 as a redshirt senior.
He earned an invite to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl after allowing just one quarterback hit and no sacks in his final collegiate season.
