Tre'Davious White Signs, Should Los Angeles Rams NFL Draft Focus Be On Defensive Line?

The Los Angeles Rams' secondary was one of the places that the team was looking to use a draft pick on, but that plan might be different now.

The Los Angeles Rams have made quite a few moves in free agency, and that could change their plans for the upcoming NFL Draft.

One of the areas where the team needed the most work was the secondary. The Rams were in the bottom five in the league in both total passing yards and yards allowed per game. But now, the moves that the team has made could remedy that problem.

The team started off by picking up a young and very versatile safety in Kamren Curl. Now, they have picked up two veteran cornerbacks, with Darious Williams making a return to L.A. and Tre'Davious White signing earlier this week.

With these moves, the team might not need to draft a new member of the secondary as high as they previously believed they would. Instead, the team can focus on other holes in the lineup.

The pick that most think the team will make is helping the defensive line after the departure of franchise legend Aaron Donald. The Rams picked Kobie Turner in last year's draft, but if they can get someone else to put next to him, then they could be very scary.

There are a couple of players that have been talked about that could be drafted with the Rams pick at No.19. Alabama's Byron Murphy is considered the best edge rusher in the draft, but he might not be available when the Rams are on the board. The defensive lineman that the team could take if Murphy is off the board is Jer'Zhan Newton out of Illinois.

It still remains to be seen whether or not the team will actually make their first-round pick, as the last time they did that was back in 2016. Whatever the Rams decide to do in the draft, the free agency moves that they have made will leave them better off for this upcoming season
