Could Texas Receiver Xavier Worthy Be NFL Draft Option For Los Angeles Rams?
The Los Angeles Rams have two wide receivers that can make plays after the catch by using their physicality and adding a guy who brings a different skill-set could take the team over the top.
Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua have similar styles of play, as they do not blow anyone away with their speed, and make plays with their physical nature. If the Rams were to add a speedster like Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the upcoming NFL Draft, then it could add a new dimension to the team.
Worthy turned the heads of the entire sports world at the NFL Combine when he broke the 40-yard dash record with a blazing fast time of 4.21. The record had been held by former Washington University receiver John Ross since 2017, but now there is a new speed king.
Not only does Worthy impress when you look at his athleticism, but his numbers in his senior season at Texas were as solid as they come. He led his team with 1,014 yards on 75 receptions, and he also hauled in five touchdowns.
Worthy was named Third-team Associated Press All-American All-Purpose, and First-team All-Big 12. Whenever a player impresses with athleticism in the Combine, sometimes their production isn't there, but this is not the case with Worthy.
If the Rams were to draft a speedster like Worthy, it would add a whole new dimension to the team's offense. And given that the Ram's passing game was already one of the best in the league, a move like this could very well push them over the top.
