Could Los Angeles Rams Target Utah Edge Rusher Jonah Elliss on Day Two of NFL Draft?
The Los Angeles Rams have expressed the desire to take an edge rusher in the upcoming NFL Draft, but they might not have to do so in the first round.
There are some solid prospects that would be available in the second and third rounds, and that could be a good option for the Rams, as it would allow them to take another position with their first-round pick. One of the guys who could be available on day two is Utah edge rusher Jonah Elliss, and he could be an intriguing fit for the Rams.
Elliss recently had an individual pro day for NFL scouts interested in him, and he showed why he is a guy that needs to be looked at more. He posted an unofficial time of 6.69 in the three-cone drill, which would beat out Bruce Irvin for the fastest-ever time by an edge rusher if it was official.
But on top of his athleticism, his production in college is also very impressive. He was named Second-team Associated Press All-American and First-team All-Pac-12 Conference, and his 12 sacks made him one of the leaders in the country.
Drafting an athletic prospect like Elliss would add yet another young player to the Rams' defensive core. He could be an intriguing fit alongside guys like Kobie Turner, Ernest Jones, and Byron Young, and that could make him worth consideration on day two of the draft.
