Baltimore Ravens' Odell Beckham Jr. Still Has 'All Love' for Los Angeles Rams
The last time the Los Angeles Rams and Odell Beckham Jr. played on the same field was two years ago, inside SoFi Stadium during the Super Bowl versus the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams and Beckham will remember that night forever, as they helped each other lift the Lombardi Trophy.
However, for Beckham, it was more of a bitter-sweet night, as following a hot start, where he totaled two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown, he went down with a torn ACL. That same ACL injury caused him to miss all of last season before ultimately signing with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason and making his return.
Now fast forward to the present, and Beckham is set to share the field with the Rams again, this time as an opponent.
"It's a special bond that I have with those guys over there – 'Coop' [Cooper Kupp], [Matthew] Stafford, ..." Beckham said. "It's just all love and respect. [Sean] McVay's been … He kind of was the person who ... the whole situation and organization brought me back to loving and having joy for football and understanding true professionalism and being prepared. It was just a great experience for me, alongside winning a Super Bowl."
After a drama-filled stint with the Cleveland Browns, which ended following a social media rant from Beckham's father, ended with his release in November of 2021, the former first-round pick proved he could be a contributor on a championship-winning team in L.A.
Despite joining the team in early November, Beckham settled in Los Angeles quickly, playing in the Rams final six games of the 2021 season, recording 537 yards and five touchdowns on 44 receptions.
Then came the playoffs, where Beckham truly shined, catching nine passes for 113 yards in the NFC championship win over the San Francisco 49ers to help send the Rams to the Super Bowl.
Following a year off the football field, as the 31-year-old Beckham recovered from his knee injury, he returned to the field with the Ravens after signing with them this past offseason.
While it hasn't quite been the comeback season that Beckham might've envisioned, as he has just 408 yards and two touchdowns on 27 receptions in 10 games, he is seemingly finding his stride as of late.
Rams Reveal Uniforms vs. Ravens
After a slow start to the season, where Beckham recorded just 162 yards on 14 receptions, he put together a more productive November, registering 246 yards and two touchdowns on 13 receptions in four games.
The Rams will look to slow down Beckham when they travel to M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff inside M&T Bank Stadium is scheduled for 10 a.m. (PT).
