Disaster nearly struck for the Los Angeles Rams in their playoff matchup vs. the Detroit Lions.

Late in the third quarter with his team down 24-17 in their Wild Card matchup vs. the Lions, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford took a huge hit from two Detroit defensive linemen and appeared to be significantly injured.

Stafford was slow to get up on the play, hobbled to the sideline clutching his arm close to his side, and was hunched over.

The veteran was then taken to the blue medical tent where he underwent further medical evaluation.

Per reports, the independent neurotrauma specialist was among the medical evaluators in the tent helping to evaluate Stafford.

Since going down on the play and undergoing evaluation, Stafford has returned to the sidelines and has been attempting throws, obviously hoping to get back in the game.

Stafford was able to return on the next drive.

Thus far, Stafford has been battling through pain already taking a hit on his hand from a Lions defensive lineman that led to a cut on the knuckle of his throwing hand.

Nevertheless, Stafford has been dealing, completing 18 of 25 throws for 266 yards and two touchdowns. And he has done so without the help of the running game, which has totaled just 32 yards on 10 carries.

Stafford has completed passes to eight different receivers in the first half, including six for 1114 yards and a touchdown to star rookie Puka Nacua.
