Matthew Stafford's NFL MVP Odds Improve for 2024 Season

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford's odds of winning the NFL MVP award in the 2024 season have improved.

Now that the NFL season has wrapped up, football fanatics find themselves in a six-month lull until the excitement returns in August. Although the NFL Draft in April provides a brief interlude, the void left by the absence of football until then is keenly felt.

Nevertheless, for sports bettors, there's no such thing as too early when it comes to planning ahead for the next season. Just recently, Draft Kings released their initial betting odds for the NFL's 2024 Most Valuable Player award, igniting anticipation and speculation among fans and enthusiasts alike.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's trajectory in MVP odds has seen a notable rise since last year, moving from the 19th-best odds to the 16th-best odds for the upcoming season.

Per Draft Kings, Stafford is listed at +3000 and tied with Jared Godd at 16th, placing him just behind Brock Purdy and Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence, and Aaron Rodgers. The favorite for the MVP title is Patrick Mahomes at +600, while the reigning MVP, Lamar Jackson, follows closely with the fifth-best odds at +1000.

Meanwhile, BetMGM has Stafford listed with the 11th-best odds at +2000 to win the award, 

This past season Stafford has demonstrated his effectiveness as a passer, averaging 7.6 yards per attempt, a statistic that positions him seventh in the league. His impact on the Rams' offense has been significant, contributing to 24 combined touchdowns, which constitutes 54.5 percent of his team's 44 offensive touchdowns.

For those inclined to take a risk, there are some intriguing long-shot bets available. Puka Nacua is listed at +20000 odds. Meanwhile, Cooper Kupp at +30000 odds, presents another opportunity, although he and Nacua are the only Rams players listed with odds. 

Notably, Aaron Donald and Kyren Williams are currently unavailable for betting on the MVP title.
