The Los Angeles Rams are using their second preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday to support wildfire recovery efforts in Maui, Hawaii.

On Thursday, the Rams released custom shirts that read "Māhama Maui," Māhama being a Hawaiian word meaning "to care for or protect," on their official team site. All proceeds from the sale of the shirts, as well as those from the in-game 50/50 raffle, will go to the American Red Cross to help recovery efforts.

"Our thoughts are with those in need after the devastating wildfires swept through Hawaii," said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross. "We are so grateful for partners like the Los Angeles Rams as we work together to provide comfort and hope for communities in the wake of these catastrophic wildfires."

The Rams partnered with Hawaiian designer Saedene Ota from Sae Design Group to produce the shirts. The shirts, which feature the Rams' logo and color scheme of blue and yellow, as well as the Red Cross logo on the sleeve, will be worn by players, coaches and staff during warm-ups. Additionally, shirts signed and worn by Rams personnel will be auctioned off to generate extra proceeds.

"As we are heartbroken for all impacted by the devastating wildfires in Hawaii, various departments within our organization embodying 'We Not Me' came together to formulate a plan to support the critical work being done by American Red Cross," said Molly Higgins, Los Angeles Rams EVP of Community Impact and Engagement. "Hawaii welcomed us as part of their community in 2019 and our special connection continues today. We hope that these efforts and funds are able to help the recovery efforts and provide some relief to those in need."

In 2019, the Rams hosted the Dallas Cowboys for a preseason game at Aloha Stadium in what was the first NFL game in Hawaii in over 40 years. The Rams have continued to maintain their presence in Hawaii, with the KHON-FOX-2 broadcasting their preseason games. regularly.
