Again? Los Angeles Rams Trio Predicted to Retire

After McVay and Donald announced their return for 2023, Sports Illustrated believes it could be their last season.
In this story:

After they won the Super Bowl the Los Angeles Rams then spent their offseason hearing rumors of Sean McVay and Aaron Donald both having apparently considered retirement.

However, both McVay and Donald ran it back for the 2022 season. Following a disappointing 5-12 season, those rumors ramped right back up. Again, though, both squashed the rumors and announced their return for 2023.

Surely, that will bring an end to this cycle of rumors, right? Well, not so fast, as Sports Illustrated made one bold claim for each team and for the Rams they believe 2023 is the final year with their current core.

As well, they believe that Stafford will call it a career following the 2023 season. Despite dispelling the rumors in two straight offseasons, it isn't surprising that some are predicting this to be the last year for these guys.

Donald was rumored to have heavily considered calling it a career after adding a Super Bowl trophy to his legacy, while McVay has been rumored to have flirted with the idea of leaving for the broadcasting booth.

Ultimately, though, there is no telling what the offseason will hold for McVay, Donald or any other member of the Rams. If the Rams disappoint again though, don't be surprised if the sideline looks a lot different in 2024.
