Rams' Sean McVay 'Looking Forward To' Expected Challenges
Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay has had a lot of success with the team since he was hired in 2017. However, after the Super Bowl victory in 2021-22, last year's team looked a lot different and this season's group is even more of a contrast.
The Rams aren't expected to win many games this season and possessing the league's youngest roster is a major reason for that.
McVay said "every single year is a challenge" during Tuesday's press conference, but despite the NFL community's expectations, he doesn't believe this is necessarily the biggest one.
“I coach because I get an opportunity to work with special people and special coaches to help them reach and realize their highest potential," McVay said. "I feel really good about the rapport that's been established with this group. We know we've got great challenges, but that's why you get into the NFL."
McVay explained that the Rams are "enjoying the hell out of" growing their mindset and developing as a team.
"I love working with this group because they want to be coached, they want to do right," McVay said. "I think we've got really good leaders that have really modeled the way and shown them what it looks like. Ultimately, it's about us making it come to life when these games start to count."
As the Rams continue to rebuild, SoFi Stadium will still be packed on Sundays and McVay explained what the fans should expect.
“(The fans will) watch us continue to improve and shoot our shot with a mental and physical toughness," McVay said. "I've never been one to really worry about anything except for being where we are and trying to compete to the best of our ability."
McVay feels "pretty confident" that his team will be able to "handle the adversity" that's expected throughout the season and "improvement" will be the result.
