Rams Trade Talk: Jalen Ramsey Out, Colts RB Jonathan Taylor In?

It's not far-fetched to think that the Los Angeles Rams could be a part of one of the biggest trades of the offseason.
In this story:

Despite a roster that remains loaded with big-time names, the Los Angeles Rams will need to make some significant moves this offseason in order to get back to their Super Bowl-winning ways in 2023.

So why not add a star-level player while getting rid of another to get the train rolling again?

Pro Football Focus recently released its list of five trades that could shake up the offseason, and the Rams find themselves square in the mix. The first trade idea would arguably be the blockbuster of the spring, as LA acquires Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor to help bolster a backfield that was one of the league's worst this past season.

Per PFF:

So what about a Taylor trade? Taylor is entering the final year of his contract, so the Indianapolis Colts might want to avoid making him the league’s highest-paid running back, as they are set to begin a rebuild. Could the Rams flip the No. 37 pick in this year’s draft, along with some other filler picks, to get the best pure running back in the league?

The Colts could be willing to deal Taylor as they enter a rebuild. Along with entering the final year of his contract while playing a position that continues to prove to be expendable, Taylor had his fair share of injury problems this past season.

Still, the Rams should care little about these concerns, as acquiring Taylor could immediately vault LA back into postseason contention.

But the Rams could have to take this new hypothetical journey without star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who PFF included on the trade list as well. In this scenario, LA would send Ramsey back to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team that drafted him at No. 5 overall in 2016.

Per PFF:

Ramsey would join a defense with one elite cornerback in Tyson Campbell (80.8 grade in 2022) and a young pass-rush unit. Ramsey is still a fantastic player, as he had the second-best grade of his career (86.4) during the 2022 season. If he were to join this defense, Jacksonville would have one of the most talented rosters in the league going into the 2023 season.

Ramsey would get to be a part of a team that shocked the entire league this season while having a better shot at contending than he would in LA.

But in an offseason where trade scenarios and fantasies run amuck, that's all these ideas are ... for now.
