Should Los Angeles Rams Trade For Philadelphia Eagles Star Haason Reddick?
With Aaron Donald's retirement creating a gap, the Los Angeles Rams are seeking to bolster their pass rush.
While they certainly will have plenty of avenues to help fill that need through the NFL Draft should they choose to go that route, there is also the possibility of finding another fit through the trade market or in free agency.
One interesting option that was presented by The 33rd Team is that of Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick, who has been connected with moves throughout the offseason.
"The Los Angeles Rams could use a pass rusher and have had success with players such as Reddick, who are quick off the line and versatile enough to drop into coverage," wrote The 33rd Team. "2023 third-round pick Byron Young was a rookie sensation — along with fellow third-rounder interior defender Kobie Turner — but the Rams’ No. 2 edge on paper is still Michael Hoecht. After Aaron Donald's retirement, Los Angeles could add some more experience on that line."
Reddick has been a topic of discussion on the trade market since he reportedly requested to be traded from the Eagles on Super Bowl day.
Although no deal emerged immediately, the Eagles' interest in signing free-agent pass rusher Bryce Huff sparked rumors that Reddick and Josh Sweat could be traded to accommodate their new addition.
Consequently, Reddick, in the final year of his contract, is now once again a potential trade candidate, and with plenty of needs on that front, the Rams could be a prime destination for him to land.
Last season, Reddick has finished with double digit sacks in each of the last four seasons, including 15 with Philadelphia in 2022. That year, he was named Second Team All-Pro. He also made a Pro Bowl in both of his seasons with the Eagles.
And pairing that kind of production with youthful and talented players like Turner and Young could be a dangerous prospect for opposing offenses.
