NFL Playoff Picture: Los Angeles Rams 'In the Hunt' Entering Week 13
If you're a fan of the Los Angeles Rams, you're also a fan of the Dallas Cowboys this week.
The Rams (5-6) are currently "on the bubble" when it comes to the playoff hunt in the NFC, but they are just one game behind the division-rival Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card race. Who do the Seahawks play this week? None other than the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football.
It may feel strange for Rams fans to root for a team that took them down 43-20 earlier this season in Arlington, but such is the nature of the NFL. If the Cowboys take down Seattle and the Rams are able to pick up a win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, they would hold the tiebreaker over Seattle with a 6-6 record.
Of course, there are other variables at play. The Green Bay Packers are also in the hunt for a playoff spot at 5-6, and L.A. lost at Lambeau Field three weeks ago, meaning that the Packers would hold a tiebreaker over the Rams. So, if you're a Rams fan, you also need to root for the Kansas City Chiefs to take care of business against Green Bay on Sunday.
There is still plenty of time for the playoff picture to sort itself out, but the bottom line for the Rams is that they need to continue to stockpile wins after such a slow start to the season. Los Angeles has won back-to-back games, and while it will face a ferocious defense in Cleveland's this week, the Browns are to be without their quarterback as well, so there is certainly an opportunity to make it three in a row.
