Odell Beckham Jr. Changes: 'Loving Football' Feeling Results from Los Angeles Rams Coach Sean McVay

Sunday's meeting between the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams is, at its highest level, about an AFC team trying to stay atop the conference against an NFC team trying to return to those heights.

But it's also about friendships and bonds and "love'' of the sort that Odell Beckham Jr. is openly reflecting upon as he prepares to step on an NFL field alongside Rams coach Sean McVay for the first time since February 2022.

"McVay kind of was the person through the whole situation …brought me back to loving football and understanding true professionalism and being prepared," said Beckham of having joined the Rams after working his way free of Cleveland ...

And then being part of the Rams having won the Super Bowl at home in SoFi Stadium.

There was, of course, more "loving football'' work to be done, as Beckham tore his ACL in that game, stalling a performance that some think might have landed him the game's MVP award.

OBJ needed to skip the 2022 season while rehabbing, and despite some Rams flirtation, he ended up signing with the Ravens for 2023.

That's been a solid decision. OBJ this year has 27 catches for 408 yards and two TDs, and his Ravens are 8-4. Left behind him in L.A. is a 6-6 Rams team loaded with talent at the receiver spot - with Cooper Kupp being teamed with the stunning Puka Nacua - but also a Rams team led by McVay.

And Beckham does a nice job here illustrating what this coach brings to this organization.

"It was one of the best things that's happened in my life,'' Beckham said of his union with the coach. "There have been other situations where I didn't feel prepared the way that I felt prepared over there. The way they looked at film, dissected each play. I think McVay does an incredible job. ...

"He knows, for sure, I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for him."
