OFFICIAL: Rams Sign Free Agent Corner Darious Williams
Heading into the 2024 free agency period, one of the biggest needs facing the Los Angeles Rams was at the cornerback spot, where they lost starter Ahkello Witherspoon to free agency.
Fortunately for the Rams, with over $40 million in cap space at their disposal, were able to fill that need right away.
According to reports on Tuesday, the Rams agreed to terms on a three-year, $22.5 million deal with one of the top corners on the market - and a familiar face - Darious Williams, who helped bring L.A. a Super Bowl the Super Bowl LVI title.
Now, that deal is official, with the Rams announcing the signing on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Williams can earn up to $30 million.
Williams, who started his career with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent, came to the Rams toward the beginning of the 2018 season, after playing three games in Baltimore.
Williams then spent the next four seasons with the Rams, playing in 43 games, starting 26 and making 130 tackles, five tackles for loss, six interceptions and 27 pass deflections.
After his contract was up, Williams hit the free agency market, where he signed a three-year $30 million deal with the Jaguars in 2022, starting 29 of 34 games over the past two seasons.

During his time with the Jags, he secured four interceptions and scored a touchdown with a 61-yard interception return against the Atlanta Falcons. Williams was particularly good in 2023, earning an 85.3 grade per PFF, tying for fifth in the league at his position.
Now, Williams is on his way back to L.A., where he hopes to be the missing piece in a secondary desperate for a difference-maker at the corner spot.
