Rams BREAKING: Starting Center Brian Allen Cut as Los Angeles Cap Casualty
In this story:

it’s a move that was expected … but that doesn’t make it any less notable.

The Los Angeles Rams are opting to say goodbye to veteran center Brian Allen, who is being released after five seasons with the team as the Rams work to structure their salary-cap roster, according to an announcement from the Rams.

As a result of the move? The Rams will eat $3.15 million in dead money by doing so, but do save $4.9 million against the 2024 cap, as The Athletic points out, doing the math to the net gain.

More money moves are on the horizon here. Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald are also three of the highest-paid players in the sport. Changes can be made to their deals. (See below.)

3 Moves - And $70 Million in Cap Space?

L.A. entered the week with about $24 million in room but that move that to $70 million in room with some adjustments.. ...

It has also been suggested that offensive lineman Joe Noteboom could be cut, meaning a savings of a reported $20 million

The Rams have in this era done a masterful job of spending big, winning big, and then rebounding, cap-wise, to be able to do it again. This move represents the 2024 start of that process
