McVay Reveals Plan For Return to Rams Next Season

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has a chance to make franchise history next season, and he confirmed his planned return to L.A. this week.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay holds the second-most regular season wins all-time in franchise history, and that's a record he hopes to eventually break in 2024.

On the latest edition of "The Coach McVay Show," the head coach learned where he stood on the list, and he followed that up with jokingly asking how far he had to go to catch the leader in John Robinson.

"I did not know that," McVay said. "I really didn't. How far ahead?"

Once he was informed that the record was attainable if he returns in 2024, McVay made a promise that he would still be roaming the Rams' sidelines next season. That might have seemed like a foregone conclusion, but it never hurts to have some reassurance.

"That I can promise you," McVay said on his return for 2024.

It would be hard to campaign against McVay after the turnaround that has happened under his watch this season. The Rams began the year with an overall record of 3-6, but following their bye week, they fought back and have now won six of their last seven games. Oh, and the only loss during that time came on the road to the Super Bowl-contending Baltimore Ravens in overtime.

Los Angeles has officially clinched a playoff berth after securing a nail-biting 26-25 win over the New York Giants last week along with a loss from the Seattle Seahawks against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week, the Rams travel to face the No. 1 seed in the NFC in the form of the San Francisco 49ers, and that kickoff in Santa Clara is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT on Sunday.

The game between the Rams and Niners will be televised on FOX.
