Buccaneers Request Interview With Rams Zac Robinson for Offensive Coordinator Job

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have requested an interview with QB Coach Zac Robinson for their open offensive coordinator spot.

Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson is expected to have a hectic schedule in the coming days.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have joined the list of teams seeking an interview with Robinson for their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

While the Buccaneers seem like just the latest to join the list, the job in Tampa Bay could be particularly appealing to Robinson given his previous connection to quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield joined the Rams last year and exhibited considerable promise, prompting the Buccaneers to sign him during the offseason. Considering Mayfield's impending free agency, the prospect of acquiring a coach who has already proven successful in maximizing Mayfield's potential could be a compelling incentive for the Buccaneers to bring Robinson in.

Several other teams, including the Saints, Steelers, Patriots, and Raiders, have also expressed interest in talking to Robinson.

Newly appointed Falcons head coach Raheem Morris is anticipated to have a keen interest in bringing Robinson to Atlanta as the offensive coordinator as well. Morris and Robinson previously collaborated on the Rams' coaching staff.

Since joining the Rams in 2019, Robinson has taken on various coaching roles, including assistant quarterbacks coach, assistant receivers coach, and passing game coordinator.

Originally a seventh-round pick by the Patriots in 2010, Robinson played for multiple teams in the NFL but never appeared in a game.

With numerous offensive coordinator positions available across the league, Robinson seems poised to step into his first play-calling role with one of these teams.
