Xavier Worthy Breaks Combine Record: 'Fastest Human I've Ever Evaluated!', Says Rams GM Les Snead

Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy broke the NFL Combine record for the fastest 40-yard dash in history, and Los Angeles Rams GM Les Snead seems to be interested in his talents.
In this story:

Former Texas Longhorns receiver, a fringe first-round pick, might now be a consensus top-20 talent. And Los Angeles Rams GM Les Snead may be interested.

Worthy dominated his 40-yard dash as a combine-weekend record 4.25 seconds on his first run. His 10-yard split of 1.45 seconds also was marked at the fastest split of the weekend.

But knowing the record of John Ross' 4.22 40-time within reach, Worthy decided to run it back one more time. With a 1.38 10-yard split, Worthy tied Ross' record before taking off and running through the building.

However, a short time later, the official times came in, with Worthy now standing alone as the fastest man in the history of the NFL Combine with a time of 4.21.

"I'm tired," an exacerbated Worthy said. "I watched the combine my whole life as a kid. I saw John Ross run that. I never thought I'd be able to be on this stage and do it."

But apparently, Snead may have seen this coming.

Following Worthy's record-breaking performance, the NFL Network broadcast indicated that Snead had told them that Worthy was 'the fastest human he's ever evaluated.'

Worthy, who led the Longhorns in receiving yards all three seasons, said he believes he has what it takes to be a consistent leading receiver in the pros. Despite weighing in at 165 pounds, the 5-11 target said that's been his playing weight for the past two years.

Rams' Williams Teaches NFL Combine Lesson

Of course, the Rams already have a plethora of wideouts at their disposal with Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, Tutu Atwell and the recently re-signed DeMarcus Robinson.

But currently sitting with the No. 19 pick, and always looking to add to the explosiveness of their offense, Worthy very well might be an option for the the Rams later this spring.
