Rams Reunion: Could Los Angeles Sign Odell Beckham Jr.?
The Los Angeles Rams had one of the best receiver corps in the entire league this past season, as the duo of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp had a great season together.
While there is no debating the fact that the Rams have one of the best passing attacks in the NFL, a third star receiver could make the team even better. There are still a fair amount of players that have not signed with a team yet, but one of the more intriguing options is Baltimore Ravens veteran Odell Beckham Jr.
The 31-year-old receiver was released by the Cleveland Browns halfway through the 2021 season and then found himself on the Rams. He got a Super Bowl ring with the team and expressed interest in returning before deciding to sign with the Ravens.
While Beckham Jr. is not nearly as athletic or explosive as he once was, he is still on of the better veteran receivers in the NFL, and could be a key part of any team that is looking to contend this upcoming season.
The wide receivers of the Ravens were not the strongest this past season, as the team was in the bottom half of the league in passing yards. It can be argued that defenses were more focused on Beckham Jr. and slowing him down. ... but it was rookie Zay Flowers who was actually the centerpiece of the Lamar Jackson passing game.
If the Rams were to sign Beckham Jr., who for all his credentials (and all the drama) is still just 31, he would get a chance to shine in a reserve role because of the massive amount of attention that opposing defense have to give to Nacua and Kupp. Even though the team had a great passing offense with those two leading the way, adding a third star wide out could push the Matthew Stafford-led offense over the top. ... and keep the Rams in contention for a playoff spot coming out of the NFC West.
