As the Los Angeles Chargers continue to rebuild in the image of their new head coach, Jim Harbaugh, the team announced the signing of former Baltimore Ravens fifth-round draft pick Ben Mason on Tuesday per Field Yates.

The Ravens selected Mason in the fifth round in 2021 with the 184th overall pick out of the University of Michigan, where he played collegiately for Harbaugh.

Mason went to camp that season with the Ravens but didn't make the final round of cuts on Aug. 31. He went on to spend time on the practice squads of the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears before he made a return to the Ravens in January of 2022.

Having played under Harbaugh at Michigan from 2017 through 2020, Mason is familiar with the new Chargers coach's system and offense, and could be valuable to the team's offense.

Mason has never made the roster of any NFL team, but with his best shot this season, we could see him on an NFL field in 2024.
