The Baltimore Ravens have had regular season success against the Tennessee Titans, but suffered an embarrassing 28-12 playoff loss in a 2019 Divisional Round matchup. Then-Titans running back Derrick Henry went off for 195 yards on 30 carries that day.

When Henry was about to enter free agency, the Ravens located their target ... and fired.

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh told NFL Media's Sam Wyche that the addition of Henry to quarterback Lamar Jackson's offense will allow the Ravens' rushing game to "attack every single one" of the lanes on the field. He added that their prior experience playing against Henry made them realize he'd be a perfect fit in their offense.

“Well, it's a big buzz, big guy and a big player,” Harbaugh said. “He has a great personality and loves football. We played against him all those years. When you play against a guy, you earn respect for a guy, and we’ve had our hands full trying to stop him. So, it kind of speaks to us. How we want to play and approach the game, so I’m fired up to have him.”

The Ravens led the league in rushing last season without the benefit of a bonafide No. 1 back, while Jackson led the team in rushing yards. Baltimore has matched several different running back combinations alongside Jackson, but none have been the caliber of Henry.

The combination of Jackson and Henry in the backfield opens the Ravens' offense to a plethora of new possibilities beginning in 2024.
