AFC Contenders? Ravens 'Scare me The Most!' - Nick Wright

The Baltimore Ravens have a host of new offensive weapons, and with a coordinator in Todd Monken who is giving the keys to Lamar Jackson, Nick Wright states the Ravens' potential scares him.
In this story:

When talking about the AFC, most gravitate to the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Buffalo Bills. All are genuine Super Bowl fancies, but one team has flown under the radar...the Baltimore Ravens.

An offseason that has seen a huge offensive shake-up, Lamar Jackson now has everything he has wanted. A star receiver (Odell Beckham Jr.), a new offensive coordinator in Monken, and another young star in Zay Flowers.

With attention on the Bills and Bengals as the Chiefs' main threats in the AFC, Nick Wright, who is an avid Chiefs fan, has stated that out of all the AFC teams, the one that makes him sit uneasy in his chair is the Ravens.

"As a Chiefs fan, the Ravens are the team that scares me the most," Wright said on First Things First. "Because they are the only team I think in the AFC, if the Chiefs play their A game, the Chiefs might lose. Because the Ravens A game is so unique because if Lamar is hitting in the passing game, that, plus the running dynamic, makes them truly unguardable."

Wright does have a point. But there are a lot of "what ifs" with the Ravens' offense. Can the receivers and Lamar stay healthy, and will the new scheme under Monken deliver the desired results?

But the potential of what John Harbaugh's team could be scares not only Wright but the rest of the AFC.

Let's not forget Baltimore was leading the division prior to Jackson getting injured last season and, in the playoff loss to the Bengals, were inside Cincinnati's 10-yard line looking to take the lead early in the fourth quarter.

So the danger signs have been there before, and now with a coordinator who likes to go vertical, coupled with offensive weapons the envy of the league, the Ravens, without a doubt, have that scare factor.

They just have to produce when the season begins.
