From NFL Worst to 'Potentially Historic' Ravens WR Room

The Baltimore Ravens enjoyed a busy offseason by adding wide receivers, now owning what might be the NFL's best unit.

The Baltimore Ravens targeted a rebuild of the wide receiver room over the offseason, and the group's overhaul worked to perfection as the Ravens could be in line for history.

According to ESPN, the team can be the first to have five first-round picks haul in a reception. "In a matter of months, the Baltimore Ravens have gone from having the NFL’s least productive group of wide receivers to a potentially historic unit," ESPN wrote.

The addition of Odell Beckham Jr., Laquon Treadwell, Nelson Agholor and Zay Flowers — combined with the return of a healthy Rashod Bateman — sets Baltimore above the rest.

"This offseason, after being the only team not to have a wide receiver total over 460 yards receiving, Baltimore has assembled its most talented group of pass-catchers in terms of pedigree," the outlet continued.

Not including the rookie Flowers, the other four receivers added to the roster have combined to play in 308 career NFL games and total of 13,639 receiver yards and 95 touchdowns.

The Ravens had an NFL-low 1,517 receiving yards from wideouts last season, and that number is about to skyrocket for a healthy Lamar Jackson.

That said, the group has seen its share of struggles in the league. Beckham did not play in 2022, Bateman was banged up, Flowers hasn't played in the league and both Treadwell and Agholor haven't had consistent success in the league.

The Ravens have constructed an epic receiver corps, but the 2012 Los Angeles Lakers used the All-Star studded starting five of Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Metta World Peace to go 45-37.

It's all about how the first-rounders perform in purple this fall.
