Ravens BREAKING: Controversial Cut of Ex 2nd-Round Pick Trayvon Mullen

The Baltimore Ravens have cut former Clemson standout Trayvon Mullen, doing so with a controversial designation.
In this story:

Released. Waived. Cut. There can be some subtle differences when a team says goodbye to a player, but this is an unusual one: The Baltimore Ravens have dumped journeyman cornerback Trayvon Mullen as of Friday, with the former Clemson standout being saddled with an interesting - and maybe even controversial - designation.

The cornerback has been released - or waived or cut, if you prefer - under the category heading of "failure to disclose physical condition.'' That would, without using NFL mumbo-jumbo and rather simple English, suggests that he showed up to training camp with a contract in hand but with a condition or ailment that he may have been saddled with prior to the team's initial evaluations.

Mullen is a former second-round pick who was looking for a reboot with Baltimore in 2023 after previous stints with his original team, the Las Vegas Raiders, then the Arizona Cardinals, and last year with the Dallas Cowboys.

Mullen was actually a starter for a time with the Raiders, where he was a starter in each of his first two seasons. Before that, at Clemson, Mullen was a key figure on a team that won two national championships under head coach Dabo Swinney. He was the defensive MVP of the 2019 national title game that saw Clemson dominate Alabama in dominating fashion.

And now he starts over again, with his next team surely curious about that designation ... and looking to do deeper research before moving forward.
