The Baltimore Ravens will be adding an offensive lineman ... or a few ... this offseason, and it's general manager Eric DeCosta and coach John Harbaugh's jobs to put the puzzle pieces together to provide the most protection for quarterback Lamar Jackson in 2024 and beyond.

With all of the new pieces combining with some older pieces, how do they all fit together? Harbaugh and DeCosta addressed that during media availability on Tuesday.

"It's going to be competitive," Harbaugh said. "There's going to be competition for those spots. ... It's the player who plays the best. You could've been the best player five years ago but you're not the best player now. Every day you go out to practice, every game you play, there's an accumulated, established aspect of it. But right now, we're a little more open.

"Those guys that you're talking about are going to be competing with whoever comes in here and we'll just see who does it. But I think those guys are ready to compete and do well. They'll be in here Monday, and I can't wait to see them."

Andrew Vorhees was the Ravens' seventh-round pick out of USC last year at No. 229 overall but tore his ACL in the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. He was slated to be a late first to early third-round pick before the injury. So if things work out with his recovery, Vorhees could be a late-round steal for the Ravens.

Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta spoke talked about trading back in the draft last season to take Vorhees.

"Andrew was a guy that I had seen on tape and I thought he was a good player and that he would have a chance long-term to be a good player for us and a starter for us potentially. A physical, tough guy that loves football. So, you know, we were just sitting there and we hadn't made a trade and he was still available and I just had this idea.

"... It just seemed to me that we would get some value with him as a player, that had he been in the draft and been healthy, he'd have been a higher pick. I saw the ability for him to potentially be a starter at guard in the league."
