After looking like contenders all of last season, the Baltimore Ravens seem poised to pick up where the team left off in last year’s playoffs after signing superstar running back Derrick Henry.

Unfortunately, Henry and MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson are facing an uphill battle in the backfield after losing multiple offensive linemen this offseason. However, drafting an offensive tackle like Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton could help both players thrive next season.

Standing 6-8 and weighing 322 pounds at the NFL Combine, Guyton showed the ability to lineup at either tackle position while playing for Oklahoma and was an All-Big 12 Conference honorable mention despite missing some time last season due to minor injuries.

While most of Guyton’s starts came at right tackle lasts eason (nine out of 10), he was protecting a left handed quarterback in Dillon Gabriel, which means that he served the same amount of importance to his quarterback as is typically attributed to left tackles.

The Ravens losses up front were acknowledged in a recent mock draft which predicted the team would take Guyton.

"Baltimore is undergoing a massive overhaul of its offensive line," Bleacher Report writes. "It is likely that one of those guard spots will be filled by someone currently on the roster with the right tackle spot being the most likely to be addressed via the draft, making the selection of Oklahoma's Tyler Guyton a seamless fit…Guyton is far from a finished product, his ease of movement at his size (6'8", 322 lbs) with a strong anchor provides a strong nucleus to build off. Being teammates with Ronnie Stanley, one of the more technically savvy tackles in the league, would help Guyton meet his potential."

After trading away right tackle Morgan Moses and letting starting offensive guards, John Simpson and Kevin Zeitler sign elsewhere, selecting a prospect like Guyton should be a top priority for the Ravens in this year’s NFL Draft.

Thursday April 25, who Baltimore decides to draft with the No. 30 overall pick in the first round will officially be announced, so keep an eye on Guyton because he could be a future franchise cornerstone on the Ravens offensive line.
