Ravens Draft: Wideout Or Tackle Help In First Round?
The Baltimore Ravens had a tremendous amount of success offensively last season, marked by the second league MVP of quarterback Lamar Jackson's career.
But with pieces of that offense likely moving on in free agency, general manager Eric DeCosta could look to April's NFL Draft to fill some of those holes.
The question is, which hole will he fill first with the No. 30 overall pick?
Essentially Sports offers two options - one at wideout and one at offensive tackle.
"One standout option is WR Brian Thomas Jr. from LSU, whose impressive 2023 stats include 68 catches, 1177 yards, and 17 touchdowns. With OBJ and Devin Duvernay possibly exploring free agency, Thomas Jr. emerges as a compelling choice to add explosiveness to the Ravens’ receiving corps."
The Ravens have already re-signed Nelson Agholor for next season, but are likely to lose Odell Beckham Jr. and Devin Duvernay. Look for second-year standout Zay Flowers the fill in as WR1 while Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely split time at tight end.
Rashod Bateman is signed through 2025 the team will want to add a possible WR2 or WR3 for Jackson.
ES also offers an option at offensive tackle from Georgia.
Hollywood Story: WR Marquise Brown Returning to Ravens in Free Agency?
"Another intriguing pick for the Ravens is OT Amarius Mims from Georgia. Despite struggling with injuries during the 2023 season, Mims possesses undeniable talent and potential. If he falls to the Ravens at the 30th pick, it would align with the team’s history of acquiring highly skilled players.
"Mims has demonstrated top-10 potential when healthy, and his addition to the Ravens’ O-line could fortify their protection and contribute to their offensive success in the upcoming season."
