Ravens 'Falling Apart!'? What's Cowherd Talking About?

Baltimore Ravens 'Falling Apart!' Colin Cowherd Absurd Opinion On AFC's No. 1 Seed - And Maybe NFL's Best Team

The Baltimore Ravens have been a wire-to-wire winner in the NFL this season and have most recently won four straight games to surge to an NFL-best record of 11-3.

They boast a playmaking defense and an MVP quarterback and ... oddly, as analyzed by FS1 host Colin Cowherd, they are "falling apart.''

"I don't expect much from them in the playoffs, although this is the year to do well in the AFC," Cowherd said, suggesting that the window of opportunity is open because "(Kansas City quarterback Patrick) Mahomes is down, (Cincinnati quarterback Joe) Burrow is gone, Baltimore is falling apart."

Wait. What?

Cowherd and Lamar

Part of Cowherd's point seems to be that the aforementioned "open window'' increases the 10-4 Miami Dolphins' chances of making a run in the playoffs. But if that is true of the Dolphins, why isn't it also true of the 9-5 Chiefs (where opposing teams certainly don't think of Mahomes as being "down'') and other contenders?

The Ravens are "falling apart''? We're trying to imagine what Cowherd is thinking here; is he projecting what he - and the oddsmakers - think will happen on "Monday Night Football'' when the Ravens take on the 11-3 San Francisco 49ers, who happened to be favorites in that showdown? Is he confusing the Ravens with somebody else?

Baltimore is the No. 1 team in the AFC. On Monday, the Ravens have a chance to show they're the No. 1 team in the NFL. And if they get a first-round playoff bye?

The "falling-apart'' Ravens will all home games in the postseason and have the inside track to the Super Bowl.
