Martindale, 60, is set to take over for Jesse Minter, who left with Harbaugh to become the defensive coordinator for the Chargers.

Martindale spent the past two seasons in New York as the defensive coordinator for the Giants after spending 2018 through 2021 with the Ravens. He also served as the Ravens' linebackers coach before being promoted.

The Defiance College product helped develop the defense both the Ravens and Wolverines still run and would allow for a somewhat seamless transition between personnel and coaching staffs.
