Baltimore Ravens 'Found A Way' Past Gritty Arizona Cardinals - John Harbaugh

The Baltimore Ravens again were inconsistent on offense, but coach John Harbaugh says his team battled and found a way to win in the desert.

The Baltimore Ravens again produced a disjointed performance in their 31-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium.

In a game that was closer than it should have been, the Ravens were leading 21-7 in the third quarter before allowing 17 points in the fourth quarter to give the Cardinals a small glimmer of hope.

The Ravens' offense again struggled on third down - successful on just four of 11 attempts - but managed to go four-for-four in the red zone, with running back Gus Edwards scoring three rushing touchdowns.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated that his team wasn't as clinical as it should have been, but they simply found a way to get the desired result.

“It was a tough game," Harbaugh said. “The Cardinals are a good football team. They’re physical, tough, you understand what they’re building. But our guys, coming across country, and all the things that we been dealing with as far as playing. We weren’t great, we weren’t really crisp and sharp as we wanted to be by any stretch, and yet we kept grinding, kept fighting, and found a way to get the job done.”

The offensive performance was nothing like last week, as the Ravens' inability to find consistency in Todd Monken's scheme continues to allude them.

At one point, beginning in the third quarter, Baltimore's offense had three straight drives that ended in punts (17 plays, 21 yards total).

But, on their fourth drive, which began at the Cardinals' 23-yard line after a Geno Stone interception (yes, another one), the Ravens punched it in for a touchdown as tight end Isaiah Likely hauled in a 10-yard pass from Lamar Jackson.

Baltimore then scored a field goal and touchdown on its next two possessions to extend the lead before the Cardinals scored a touchdown and then a field goal after recovering an onside kick to make Ravens' fans nervous.

But the team held on for a crucial win that moved them to 6-2 on the season as attention now turns to the 5-2 Seattle Seahawks at M&T Bank Stadium next week.
