Ravens Free Agency Rumor: RB Gus Edwards Signs With Cowboys?
Like a lot of teams this offseason, the Baltimore Ravens have a ton of pending free agents that could be poached by other teams. After a very successful 13-4 regular season that saw the offense boast the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL, the Ravens could be poised to lose running back Gus Edwards, and it might be the Dallas Cowboys that come calling.
The Cowboys have their own free agency issues, especially at running back. Last year's RB1, Tony Pollard, played on the franchise tag and hits free agency again next month. Dallas' RB2, Rico Dowdle, is also a free agent, and both are most likely gone.
Enter Gus Edwards.
There are a ton of running back names on the open market starting March 13 that might be bigger names than Edwards. Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, D'Andre Swift, Austin Eckeler and Saquon Barkley are all likely to be available.
But they'll all cost significantly more than Edwards - who has shown a tremendous amount of growth and improvement this past season.
Ravens Draft Rumors: Replace WR Rashod Bateman?
After J.K. Dobbins went down with an Achilles tear in Week 1 and was gone for the season, Edwards was able to post 810 yards and 13 touchdowns. He's a physical back that the Cowboys have missed since releasing Ezekiel Elliott last offseason.
Per Spotrac.com, Edwards' anticipated market value is only around $4.5 million per. year. That will fit into the budget of most NFL teams this off-season.
