Ravens Free Agency: Lamar Jackson Can't Speak with Teams Until ...

Amidst the free agency frenzy, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is unavailable to negotiate with other teams - but for how long?
In this story:

As free agency negotiations with unrestricted free agents kicks off around the NFL, the most pressing matter at hand for the Baltimore Ravens is retaining one of their own.

Former MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was recently given the non-exclusive tag, is still in limbo with Baltimore - but he can't start negotiations with other teams until Wednesday at 4 p.m.

This gives the Ravens two more days to speak with Jackson before he's open for business around the league ... but many teams are already reportedly out on pursuing the 2018 first-round pick, opening up the conversation of potential collusion from owners.

Baltimore's had an active start to the legal tampering period, getting running back Gus Edwards to agree to a pay cut and releasing defensive tackle Calais Campbell.

But what about Jackson?

The common thought is that teams don't want to the "dirty work" of Jackson's contract for the Ravens, essentially working out a contract only to have it matched.

Due to the lack of involvement from other teams, it seems as if Baltimore is well-positioned to bring Jackson back - but the extent to which the rest of the league is interested may not fully be revealed until conversations can officially commence.

And that, by rule, will not be during the legal tampering period, meaning Jackson's situation is largely on hold for the next two days.
