Ravens Rumored Free Agent Target Rips Reporter
As we approach the NFL's new league year on Wednesday, teams are putting themselves in place to begin negotiating with free agent players to be during the "legal tampering period."
The Baltimore Ravens are rumored to be in play for a top running back as well as a wide receiver to play alongside last year's rookie phenom, Zay Flowers.
One player the Ravens have been linked to is New Orleans Saints wideout Michael Thomas.
The former Ohio State receiver is expected to be released by New Orleans in a salary cap casualty type of move. Thomas isn't happy about it, but that's the business of football.
Thomas took to social media to attack the reporter who broke the news of his release.
Thomas posted, “Jeff Duncan is a h–. Trying to stay relevant so let’s speak on it. The Saints leak information to him to try to ruin player's value but see I’m not broke so I can speak on it. He is broke so he needs clicks. Go look at all his articles that never end up being true.”
Duncan, from NOLA.com, reported the pending Thomas release in an article. “The former All-Pro receiver is expected to be released at some point before the start of the league year, which begins next week on March 13. It’s not a matter of if the Saints move on, but when, according to multiple sources.”
Perhaps Thomas' reaction here is part of the reason the Saints are reportedly letting him go and could be a warning to the Ravens or other teams who are considering signing him.
