Ex Baltimore Ravens Free Agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. Reacts To Miami Dolphins Rumors
Former Baltimore Ravens wideout Odell Beckham Jr. remains a free agent after meeting with a number of teams this offseason.
One of the teams the former LSU standout met with was the Miami Dolphins.
Reports are the 31-year-old visited the Miami Dolphins last week per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. This comes just before the Miami Herald reported the same, saying the Dolphins want to add OBJ to the pair of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
And it seems someone might've jumped the gun on social media about OBJ having officially signed in Miami, and it appears to have confused the former three-timePro Bowler.
"Lol I’m Confused today did I sign somewhere ? Errbody keep hittin me," OBJ wrote on X.
It was reported at the end of last month that a contract offer was made to Beckham, but nothing was ever signed. The Dolphins have stated they will conitnue to pusue him.
The 2014 AP Offensive Rookie of the Year played last season in Baltimore on a one-year deal after recovering from an ACL tear suffered in the Super Bowl while he played for the Rams in 2021. The former LSU Tiger missed the entire 2022 season while rehabbing his injury.
Beckham made $16 million last season in Baltimore and posted 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
In Miami, OBJ would most likely be third in the wideout pecking order behind Hill and Waddle, as he was in Baltimore behind rookie Zay Flowers and the tight end combination of Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.
Last month, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta spoke at the NFL Scouting Combine and suggested a possible return of OBJ to Charm City in 2024.
“We’ve just texted,” DeCosta said. “He’s a great, great guy. I love Odell.
“He’s become a great friend of mine and a friend to the Ravens, and I think we’ll just kind of assess and see what happens over the next couple of weeks.”
So far, there are no reports of any further communication between Beckham and the Ravens.
