Top 10 Free Agents Entering Offseason: Ravens Big Losers?

Just how many stars on the Baltimore Ravens would rank in the top 10 of upcoming free agents in March?
In this story:

Free agency may be a month away but some teams are already planning on getting gutted by losing top players to the open market.

The Baltimore Ravens are no exception.

Despite having the best record in the NFL in 2023 and reaching the conference title game, the Ravens are set to lose several key members of their current roster. Whether it's a Pro Bowl guard in Kevin Zeitler or stars on defense, free agency won't be kind to a dominant team like Baltimore.

Just how good are their free agents, though? We break down the top players hitting the open market and likely destinations for them in the coming months.

10. LB - Patrick Queen, BAL

Likely Destinations: PHI, DAL, WAS

The Ravens do not have enough cap space to keep all their top talent this offseason. While another name on this list is more likely to stay, Queen is a linebacker who could get the top contract offer this offseason.

9. S - Antoine Winfield Jr., TB

Likely Destinations: NYJ, NYG, TB

The top safety in this class can go many different places (including staying in Tampa Bay), but the New York teams need competent safety play which will jack up his cost.

8. CB - L'Jarius Sneed, KC

Likely Destinations: SF, PHI, KC

Sneed had another excellent season with Kansas City and there's a chance he goes back to Arrowhead for a few more years this offseason. Essentially, every contending team will want his services, though.

7. QB - Kirk Cousins, MIN

Likely Destinations: MIN, ATL, DEN

The Vikings may want to start fresh at quarterback next season, and if they do, Cousins will be a highly sought-after commodity. Teams like the Falcons, Broncos, Steelers, and Raiders could all be part of that discussion.

6. WR - Tee Higgins, CIN

Likely Destinations: NYJ, CIN, NE

Higgins is both the best free agent wide receiver in quite some time, and also the biggest conundrum of this cycle. Will Cincinnati simply let him walk this year or push the can down the road and let him walk after the 2024 season ends?

5.  DE/EDGE - Brian Burns, CAR

Likely Destinations: ARI, NYG, LAR

Similarly to Josh Allen, Brian Burns is going to make a lot of money this year if he hits the open market. Teams like the Rams and Cardinals, who were both in trade talks to try and acquire him the last few years, will have plenty of interest.

4. DT - Justin Madubuike, BAL

Likely Destinations: BAL, KC, SEA

Most people believe Madubuike, a 13-sack defensive tackle, will be tagged by the Ravens before free agency hits. There's also the likelihood that the team will agree to a long-term extension with the Pro Bowl player before that conversation happens. Either way, he's not going to be leaving Baltimore.

3. DE/EDGE - Josh Allen, JAX

Likely Destinations: JAX, BAL, LAR

Not many edge rushers hit the open market after a 17-sack season. Allen may not be an exception with the franchise tag hovering over him. If he does walk, he'll get a massive deal on the open market with the Ravens being one of the teams interested in his services.

2. CB - Jaylon Johnson, CHI

Likely Destination: CHI, PHI, DET

No one helped themselves more in the free agency discussion than cornerback Jaylon Johnson of the Chicago Bears. Outside of Sauce Gardner in New York, Johnson was one of the most statistically impressive players this season and will be set to make a lot of money this offseason.

Is Ravens Justin Madbuike a Top 10 Free Agent? Where Does DT Rank?

1. DT - Chris Jones, KC

Likely Destination: HOU, SEA, KC

Will the Chiefs pay the $33 million with the franchise tag for defensive tackles? That's a lot of money for a player like Jones, who while still dominant, is probably nearing the downside of his career.

It's certainly a question that will be one of the most talked-about storylines of the offseason, but Jones could hit free agency as well.
