Baltimore Ravens Coach John Harbaugh Happy Without Bye After London Trip

The Baltimore Ravens are back in action this week against the Detroit Lions after playing in London in Week 6.

The Baltimore Ravens grabbed their first win in London last weekend, and they will have to conquer another first this week.

In 2017, the Ravens had a bye after their international travel, but that isn't the case in 2023. It used to be customary to have a bye the week after an international game. However, with the increase in volume, the NFL schedule-makers have had to make some tweaks.

However, coach John Harbaugh is actually excited to keep the ball rolling.

"We didn't really want to have a bye too early," Harbaugh said via the team's website. "They gave us the late bye and an early game in London. We like the later bye. We're playing the Lions which it turns out, arguably is the best team in the NFC. Playing great football. So that's where we're at."

The Ravens flew back to Baltimore after the game on Sunday and were given Monday off. Yesterday, the Ravens were back in the facility to begin preparing for the Detroit Lions, who currently hold the league's best record at 5-1.

"We're going to get back to business as usual," Harbaugh said. "We're going to try to get back on schedule. I think coming this way is kind of a good thing. You're used to getting up."

History has been kind to teams that have traveled to London and played right away. In Week 5, the Atlanta Falcons pulled out a win after losing in London. Last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills also grabbed victories. The Ravens will have a chance on Sunday to continue the pattern.
