Ravens John Harbaugh on J.K. Dobbins' Return - 'We're All Excited!'
The Baltimore Ravens' running back room gained another body as J.K. Dobbins was officially moved off the PUP list. As Dobbins was thought to be performing a "hold-in" as he is entering the final year of his rookie deal and looks to get a new contract, he was also dealing with a knee issue.
But now, Dobbins was finally participating in Ravens practice, and John Harbaugh was ecstatic that his running back was finally involved.
"It feels good to have him back here on the field," Harbaugh said. "He's excited. We're all excited. We'll probably ramp him up a little bit this week and work him in there and try to be smart in how we do it, but he'll be fine. He's 100% healthy. He looks good, [and] he's been training hard, so he's ready to go."
After a knee injury back in 2021 saw Dobbins miss the entire year, he returned last season to play and start eight games for 520 yards and two touchdowns.
Now, after recovering from another knee injury, Dobbins now joins a running back room oozing with talent. Gus Edwards (4 carries for 21 yards) and Justice Hill (3 carries for 48 yards) both put forth a good performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in a 20-19 win and now we can add Dobbins back to the list of weapons at Todd Monken's disposal.
Whether or not Dobbins sees any action against the Washington Commanders on Monday night is unknown, but the two franchises have two joint practices this week, so we might get an idea of the workload Baltimore has in store for Dobbins.
The situation with Dobbins, for some, was getting a little nervy, but while he doesn't have a new contract, he is at least back on the practice field ready to help Lamar Jackson and co. stack the wins this season.
