Ravens vs. Chiefs Labeled Most Watched AFC Championship Game Ever with 55-plus Million Viewers
The Ravens laid an egg in the AFC Championship matchup with the Chiefs on Sunday, allowing Kansas City to earn yet another trip to the Super Bowl. And a record number of people watched the egg being laid.
Per CBS Television, the conference title game at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday averaged 55.473 million viewers during the broadcast. It marks the most ever and is a 17 percent increase over last year's conference title game in the same time slot which pitted the 49ers against the Eagles.
It could mean huge ratings when CBS broadcasts Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 when the Chiefs will play the NFC champion 49ers - a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, the Ravens will be watching from their collective couches after losing to Kansas City 17-10 in quarterback Lamar Jackson's first-ever AFC title game.

Wideout Zay Flowers carried twice for four yards and Jackson ran eight times for 54 yards.
Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes return to the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five seasons.
