Kadarius Toney OUT For 'Personal Reasons' for Ravens vs. Chiefs - AFC Championship Game
Chiefs wideout Kadarius Toney was limited in practice most of the week ahead of the team's matchup with the Ravens in Sunday's AFC Championship game.
On Friday, Kansas City officially labeled Toney as "questionable" with hip injury, but on Saturday, that status was downgraded to "out" because of the hip injury and "personal reasons."
Toney has not played for the Chiefs since Week 15 against the Patriots while he has been dealing with the hip issue.
Toney ended the regular season with 27 catches for 169 yards and one touchdown and also posted 11 carries for 31 yards. His season was impaired by drops, penalties and injuries. No further details about Toney's "personal" designation have been reported or announced by the team.
The Chiefs will now face the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium without Toney, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (Tricep), starting left guard Joe Thuney, wide receiver Skyy Moore (Knee) and offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho (Quad) on Sunday.
Ravens' Use Of Mark Andrews And Isaiah Likely Presents Unique Opportunity
The Ravens' final injury designations for Sunday include corner Marlon Humphrey, wideout Tylan Wallace and safety Rock Ya-Sin all as questionable while linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips is doubtful.
The team anticipates the return of tight end Mark Andrews for his first game action since an ankle injury suffered against the Bengals on Nov. 16 caused him to miss the final seven games of the regular season and the Divisional round matchup with the Houston Texans.
