Kyle Hamilton could join legend Ed Reed in making Baltimore Ravens history against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton is a forced turnover away from being in the same company as Ed Reed.

Anytime you could potentially share company with Baltimore Ravens Hall of Fame defensive back Ed Reed, it’s a good thing, and that’s the situation Kyle Hamilton could find himself in after Sunday.

The second-year safety is a forced fumble away from being the first Ravens defensive back to have multiple sacks, interceptions, and forced fumbles in a season since Reed did it in 2004. To this day, Reed is the only one to accomplish that feat for Baltimore.

For the season, Hamilton has two interceptions, nine passes defended, three sacks, 69 tackles and nine tackles for loss.

Hamilton’s ability to join the record books will first depend on his health. He has been limited in back-to-back practices after suffering a knee injury on Sunday in the Ravens’ 37-31 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams at M&T Bank Stadium. The injury forced him to leave the game early.

Hamilton’s status for Sunday is still undecided, though head coach was happy with how the safety looked with a brace on in practice on Wednesday.

“Still unsure," Hamilton said on if he'll play after practice on Wednesday. "[It's] up in the air. I went out there today [and] felt pretty good, so we'll go from there."

For Hamilton, the chances he’ll play will depend largely on his practice reps in preparation for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football.

"It's just reps," Hamilton said. "It's tough to simulate getting practice reps. You can do as many mental reps as you want, but being out there [and] actually seeing live plays, it's different when getting prepared for a game."

Baltimore faces Jacksonville at 8:20 p.m. ET at EverBank Stadium on Sunday.
